Once again I traveled back to Kenya to visit some good friends in the Huruma Slum, Nairobi, Kenya.
I traveled to Kenya with the non-profit organization "When I Grow Up". You can check out their website here! www.whenigrowupglobal.com. When I Grow Up (WIGU), focuses on empowering children living in extreme poverty by giving them the opportunities of getting an education. WIGU believes that poverty is not a lack of money, but rather a lack of options, so their model is that of providing resources to the very capable people of Huruma, who in turn empower the children through education. In Kenya, WIGU provides resources to a place called Furaha Community Foundation, which operates a Primary School in the Huruma Slum, as well as a Secondary School in the out lying region of Kantafu.
When I travel to Kenya, my job is to take pictures and video to document the progress of the foundation, and to give people a look into what is going on in Kenya! Here are just a few pictures from my trip...
